What Is Cryptocurrency?
Cryptocurrency is digital money. That means it's not paper or coins like dollars or quarters. It lives on computers. You can use it to buy things, trade, or even save—just like regular money.
But here’s the twist: It’s not controlled by a bank or government. Instead, it runs on something called blockchain.
What Is A Blockchain?
A blockchain is like a digital notebook that keeps track of every time someone sends or gets cryptocurrency. Every time there’s a new transaction, it gets added to the notebook—and everyone can see it!
This makes it very hard to cheat, because the notes are saved across thousands of computers all around the world.
How Does Crypto Stay Safe?
Cryptocurrencies use math puzzles to keep everything secure. Computers solve these puzzles to approve transactions. This is called mining (and no, it doesn’t involve a shovel!).
The faster your computer solves the puzzle, the better your chance to earn a reward—like more crypto!
What Can You Do With Cryptocurrency?
People use crypto for many things:
Buying stuff online
Trading it like stocks
Saving it for the future
Playing games or using apps
